| History of K-Towners Community Association of Toronto (KCAT) The association was created to provide support for its members, liaise with other organizations in the diaspora interested in the development of Kumba; provide opportunities for learning and avenues of information sharing amongst members, and fund development projects within the municipality of Kumba. The first meeting of ideas for the formation of the KCAT took place on the 3rd of May, 2004 at Mrs Grace Baiyee's residence. Following fruitful deliberations, the first general assembly meeting took place on June 3rd, 2004, at Miss Rosemary Bambot's residence and this is considered the beginning of KCAT. Membership to KCAT is open to any Cameroonian of good character who has resided or studied in the Kumba municipality. Membership is also open to any person of good character with deep interest in the well being, development and prosperity of Kumba. K-Towners Community Association of Toronto celebrated its fifth Anniversary on August 22, 2009 with 45 registered members. |
